Intern Spotlight on Matthew

Written by Matthew Lee, Former Business Development Intern-2021

Over a period of five weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of serving as the Business Development Intern at Yoo & Co. Accelerators. Five weeks is a relatively short time, so there was little to do except hit the ground running. Right from the getgo I was able to jump in on meetings with both current and prospective “pioneers”, giving my input on opportunities facing clients and Yoo & Co. with an outside perspective informed by current academic entrepreneurial theory as well as past experiences on product and development teams for startups.

Given my background in marketing and web design, I was able to assist Yoo & Co. internally as well as “pioneers” externally with creation of web copy that captures the attention of intended audiences while maintaining brand voice, in addition to many other internal and external projects. I am most grateful, however, for the opportunity to sit in on all Yoo & Co. meetings as a member of the team and gain exposure to all facets of running an accelerator, witnessing the behind-the-scenes discussions of the full accelerator life-cycle from program invitation to exit event.

I am thankful for my time at Yoo & Co. and proud of the work we have accomplished during my short stint with the team.
